Opening hours
- Arboretum Kalmthout is open every day from 10am to 5pm from mid-January until the end of November.
- The cafeteria, the gift & bookshop and the garden centre are week days open from 10am to 4.30pm. Closed for Christmas Holidays.
Accessibility
- a 300 metre long paved garden path links the reception building to the Vangeertenhof and the meadow, and ensures greater accessibility and orientation within the arboretum garden.
- during dry weather wheelchairs can be taken anywhere in the entire park easily, however during wetter conditions this may be more difficult. Disabled visitors who require and escort in order to enjoy a safe visit to the park are permitted to enter only under the guidance and responsibility of their escort. This escort receives free admission.
- there is step-free access with automatic sliding doors in the reception building, which is where the gift & book shop, and cafeteria are also located.

Getting here
By bicycle
Arboretum Kalmthout is located near the Kalmthout train station. Alongside the railway, a biking route called the 'Fietsostrade' connects Essen to Antwerp.
The signposted ‘Grensparkroute’ and ‘Heideroute’ skirt the grounds. Cycle junctions 25 and 70 of the Antwerp Kempen cycle network (cycle map 2) are nearby.
In the car park there are a parking area for bicycles, a general map of the provincial cycle junctions, and an electric charging station. Handy bicycle maps can be bought in the gift & book shop. A bicycle pump and material for minor cycle repairs are available in the reception building. Arboretum Kalmthout is part of the Fietsvriendelijke Horeca (Cycle-friendly catering) network.
By public transport
Arboretum Kalmthout is within walking distance of Kalmthout Station. You can reach Kalmthout station in approximately 20 minutes from both Antwerp central station and Rosendaal station (Netherlands).
The Essen-Kalmthout 'dial-a-bus' service also stops at the entrance to the grounds. Bus 659 Ekeren – Donk – Hoogstraten and bus 670 Antwerp – Kapellen – Essen stop not far from the grounds.

By car
From the Ring around Antwerp head towards Breda, continue to the E19, exit 4 Kalmthout, follow first the N117 and then the N111 towards Kalmthout, 1 km from the built-up centre of Kalmthout cross the railway line, and then we're a further 70 m on the right-hand side. Alternatively: Antwerp Ring towards Bergen op Zoom (A12), exit 13 Stabroek, turn right on the N111, after about 12 km on this road the entrance to the grounds is on the left-hand side.
From the Netherlands: A16 Breda - Antwerp, in Belgium this becomes the E19, exit 2 Kalmthout/Loenhout, follow first the N144 and then the N111 towards Kalmthout, 1 km from the built-up centre of Kalmthout cross the railway line, and then we're a further 70 m on the right-hand side.
Car park
There are car parks on the premises, situated Heuvel 8, 2920 Kalmthout, free of charge. Designated parking areas are available for motorcycles, coaches (max. 4), bicycles and disabled parking permit holders. Additional free parking spaces are available at the Kalmthout railway station, which is located 200 metres from the visitor's entrance.
